Abstrak

Ang mabilis na paglaganap ng Artipisyal na Intelehensiya (AI) sa larangan ng edukasyon ay nagbukas ng iba’t ibang oportunidad at kasabay nito ay nagbigay ng mga hamon kaugnay ng responsable at etikal na paggamit nito. Ang pananaliksik ay naglalayong matukoy ang antas at pananaw ng paggamit ng kolehiyong tagapagkatuto sa Artipisyal na Intelehensiya (AI) sa kanilang akademikong gawain. Ang mga resulta ay magsisilbing batayan sa pagbuo ng isang alituntunin para sa responsableng paggamit ng AI. Gumamit ang mga mananaliksik ng mixed-method na disenyo partikular na ang explanatory sequential, na kung saan unang nakalap ang kwantitatibong datos na sinundan ng kwalitatibong datos. Binubuo ang mga respondente ng 178 na tagapagkatuto mula sa iba’t ibang antas ng kursong Batsilyer ng Sekondaryang Edukasyon sa Larangan ng Filipino ng Pamantasan ng Cabuyao. Ginamit sa pag-aaral na ang stratified sampling technique upang matiyak ang tamang bilang ng mga respondente mula sa bawat antas. Samantala, para sa kwalitatibong bahagi pinili ang mga kalahok na may karanasan sa paggamit ng AI at nakapagsagot sa isinagawang sarbey. Lumabas sa pag-aaral na sumasang-ayon ang mga mag-aaral na nakatutulong ang AI sa paggawa ng kanilang presentasyon, takdang-aralin, akademikong sulatin, at pag-aayos ng gramatika. Batay sa resulta ng pananaliksik may makabuluhang pagkakaiba batay sa edad, antas, at pamilyaridad sa AI. Bagamat malaki ang naitutulong ng AI sa edukasyon hindi lubos na umaasa dito ang mga mag-aaral. Kaya naman mahalagang magkaroon ng malinaw na polisiya para sa responsableng paggamit ng AI sa edukasyon.

Level of Use and Perceptions of Artificial Intelligence among College Students: Basis for Developing Program for the Responsible Use of AI

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education presents both opportunities and challenges, particularly in ensuring its ethical and responsible use. This study aims to determine the extent and perspectives of college learners regarding the utilization of AI in their academic tasks. The findings will serve as the basis for developing guidelines on responsible AI use. Employing a mixed-method design, specifically an explanatory sequential approach, the researchers first gathered quantitative data followed by qualitative insights. The respondents consisted of 178 learners from various levels of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Filipino program at Pamantasan ng Cabuyao, selected through stratified random sampling to ensure representation across year levels. For the qualitative phase, participants with prior experience in AI use and who completed the survey were chosen. Results revealed that students agree AI is helpful in preparing presentations, assignments, academic writings, and grammar correction. Significant differences were observed based on age, academic level, and familiarity with AI. The AI provides substantial support in education, students do not rely on it entirely. Thus, the establishment of clear policies is essential to promote the responsible use of AI in academic contexts.
